There are three main locations that can be used to update ISOBUS nodes / ECUs. This is why there is only one terminator on the SmarTrax MD node cable.

The SmarTrax MDU has a built-in terminator. "J1939" will display as the BUS type when updating the SmarTrax MDU. When connected, follow Steps 2 through 3 above. To update the SmarTrax Mechanical Drive Unit, connect to the CAN connector that is terminated on the SmarTrax MD node cable then terminate the CAN adapter cable. "RAVEN" will display as the BUS type when updating the SmarTrax MD node. The reason for this is because the MDU is on its own separate CANBUS. This connection is for updating the SmarTrax MDU (Mechanical Drive Unit). Do not use the CAN connector that is terminated on the node cable to update the MD node. To update the SmarTrax MD node, follow the steps above. Because of this, there will only be one other terminator visible on the CANBUS. The CAN Switch Box has a built-in terminator. Tee in between the console cable and the back of the Switch Box with the 115-0172-029 CAN adapter cable then follow Steps 2 through 3 above.

These drivers are available in the software download package. When updating the service tool software, update the drivers for the USB to CAN converter as well. It is recommended to have the latest version of the Raven Service Tool software.
